Yeah, maybe I will look at the door code. The woman told me I needed something like 6400lb front end. No, the V plow I am looking at is 785 plus the mount. So they seem very close. Both the dealers I checked at sell all the major brands, but said they recommend a V plow..maybe they make more money? The one dealer told me he could sell me the Boss V for less than a Western or Meyers or one of the other brands I cannot remember the name of. The second dealer just told me he recommends this plow for my truck 100%? I know my brother used one for years and only replaced the electrical plug connector every so many years. He had a plow and mowing business.

Get the 8' vee boss plow you will be very happy. I have a 250 with 350 blocks and 6000k springs up front and run a boss 9' vee for 6 years, do 30 plus drives per storm and just now need ball joints(scheduled for next Wed but so is another storm). Take care of your truck and it will take care of you.

I agree with rj. Once you get a V plow, you'll never go back to a straight blade. Get the snow deflector flap right away also. It helps to keep most of the powder off your windshield. ( I said most ).

Not sure how I would know that, maybe in the door code?
I have a 2010 F250 Supercrew with the FX4 package. I do have an additional package to add more carrying capacity to the bed, which is 6.5 or 6.8
But was wondering if I got a Boss XT V plow would I have to upgrade the front suspension?
Check your window sticker, It'll tell you if you have the snowplow prep package ( which most 3/4 tons do) I have an 07 F250 XL with the prep pack. and I have an 8.6 ft Fisher Extreme V plow and it does great, the truck holds it up fine. I wouldn't recommend anything less than a 8ft plow because you'll be in your snow all the time with the plow V'ed or angled which makes plowing and keeping the snow away from the sides of your truck (which can dent it if the snow is frozen) hard and you'll find yourself stuck more with the narrower plows. Well I get the plow installed at 8am Wed. It is an hour and a half drive there, but save $700 over what I can get done 15 mins away. Plus the guy did not lie to me.
I know the truck does not have the snow plow prep, I bought it new but did not order it. One of the few new vehicles I did not order or have them find one exactly as I would order it. I would have gotten the snow plow prep. The one plow dealer told me the only diff in the snow plow prep is an tr anny oil cooler. I know better than that. I got a tranny oil cooler and bigger radiator with a tow package. I just wondered about the aiming option?

Well, I got the plow home. Now, I just need to learn how to use it right and to be able to take it off and put it on without incidence. The truck ride okay with it on and is a little lower in front with the blade on. I was gonna drop the blade into my pole barn but we are supposed to have high winds tonight that will cause drifting. The winds are about 20mph now so, I think I will leave it on tonight. The plow dealer was almost 2 hours away, so they let me use a van to drive so I did not have to wait at their business while it was installed. So, my wife and I went shopping, which I hate to do.

The beauty of having the tractor and blower along with the truck and plow is that you don't have to be too agressive with the truck (ie: stacking or pushing back too much and getting stuck) because you can just use the tractor to get rid of the banks. When we get Nor'easters and blizzards, I usually just use my skidsteer with the blower rather than just beating my truck up and worrying about getting stuck. I just plow my driveway and a neighbors, but they are large country driveways

Yeah, you are right. I have not used my blower for 2 years. My son has it right now, but I will start plowing his small drive and his parking spots behind his house and in front of his garage. I will probably plow my sisters small drive. I have another property I am plowing tomorrow just for practice.

Tried to post one off my Droid phone and it says wrong file or format?
Then I tried to drag and drop and it did not work either. Have not ever posted pic to this site before.

Nice rig. Does the Boss plow mount and unmount quickly like the Western plows? I remember the older plows of 10-20 yrs ago that were a real pita to put on, which is why I gravitated to Tractor/Loader plows. Can't beat a Tractor as long as the jobs are very local, but I REALLY wish I had gotten a cab Tractor.
Anyway, enjoy your setup!

Thanks rjc. Yes. You lower flip two levers and raise. Then unplug the Electrical. I did it at the dealers but have not taken it off at home yet. It seems to be keeping the bad snow away. It has snowed twice, but no accumulation.
Yeah, I wish my tractor had a cab on it too. I would have done the snow blower thing years ago. A few years ago though I went to the tractor dealer to get a rototiller. He said he had a great deal for me on something else. Then he showed me a steel canopy for my tractor. He said he ordered it for someone who died before he picked it up and he had it for years now and wanted the space. I got it for 60% off. He showed me the invoice and what he paid for it and I bought it for less than he gave for it. It was new. It keeps the sun off me which allows me to mow or work a lot longer. I have a zero turn Bad Boy with a Cat diesel engine, but I have no canopy on it. Those for that are usually plastic and would break around my trees.
