Coolant Leak after water pump change
Decided to start a new thread, insted of tagging onto the old one.
Getting up to speed: I had a coolant leak from the intake manifold gasket, replaced that. Water pump bearing was shot, so I replaced that. Pulled the block drain plugs to try and get as much of the old coolant out as possible. Didn't do a flush or anything like that. Filled with Fleet Charge, and plan on installing a filter on the system when I get some extra funds.
Its about 5 *F here and I got back from my route this morning, and I see a puddle of my brand new fleet charge under the truck. Not a huge puddle, but a puddle none the less. I was thinking it was a block plug, but when I threw the wrench on it to check it was tight, and dry. However, above the starter there was noticible wetness. Checked the block heater, it was dry. so I went up top and as best as I can tell everything is dry up there. Heater hoses are dry, new gasket is dry, but I still can't tell where its coming from.
I noticed the warmer the engine got, the slower the drip. But like I say I have no clue where its source is. Its on the passenger side, starter area. I'm hoping its nothing serious, as I just got this back together and trying to get it to where I can use it. Any insight would be great.
Thanks!!

Yeah I'll try and get another vid. On recommendation from a friend whom i trust, I put 3 seal tabs in the system yesterday. It really seemed to slow it down. To the point of a few drips in 30min.
I guesses I'm just curious why I'm getting a leak now. Only thing i can think of is with a new pump and new cap (13lb cap) is it's actually getting the pressure it's suppose to get and I've just found more weak spots.
Anyway you slice it, It appears this cooling system has seen serious neglect. I just hope it's not too litle too late.

Keep after it and you will get it in good shape. Sadly seems alot of these things get seriously neglected because they will just keep taking it... they just refuse to die or fall apart.
I really hope you didnt add "stop-leak" of any variety in there... or you really will have a mess. Think new radiator, new heater core etc.

You stated you checked the heater core hoses, but did you check the radiator hoses as well? My new truck (93) had a small coolant leak this fall when it started getting cold that was dripping off the starter. The hose clamp on the top of the radiator was and old school thumb-tab style and was barely finger tight. It was a real slow drip that the fan blew back towards the block where it would drip off the starter.
Replaced the hose clamp and it seemed to have stopped, although I do get a whiff of coolant every and then. I figure I need to replace to the hoses at some point and may do that once it warms up this spring.
