I have the 64 Ford F250, with a 223 hooked up to T-98 Transmission. The Vacuum hose going from the carb to the distributor is one turn of the wrench from falling apart. Can this be replaced with a silicon or rubber vacuum hose or do I have to replace with a steel one that it originally came with.

 

Yes, you can use a rubber line there.

A steel line would be the best. Regardless of what you use be sure you are getting advance when finished. Any problem in the line or vacuum advance unit will make a 223 a DOG! There is no mechanical advance and is 100% dependent on vacuum.
