Drivers side door panel lower screws have nothing to adher to when attempting to make door panel attached once again. Washboard roads in Death Valley didn't help much.

So, easy way to get screws to sink into something other than taking off door panel and insulation and finding the inside retainers? See attached descriptive picture.

you could try to reduce the hole in the metal panel inserting plastic anchors into the holes, ones that fit the hole tight, or easier to replace the plastic push-in retainers at the finishing panel, they are sold in packets of 10 at autoparts stores, because those are usually 1-time use only.

 

A couple packages of these will fix that.
