Adding Tachometer on 64
I would like to add a tachometer and possibly another gauge like oil pressure to my 64. Can I purchase any analog gauge and have it work. Truck has original 292 and generator. Thanks all.

Not up on the words. Is analog with a sweeping needle? If so a tach will work fine. Had one before restoring and am putting a Supertach in as wee speak. As far as the oil pressure gauge I put one in mine also but it is mechanical.

Yes that's the analog type I want. Issue is do I keep the cluster as is and add the tach to the dash or cut up the panel and add 2 gauges. Also what do I need to purchase with the tach to make it work or does it usually unclude the cable?

You can do it however you want. Gauges usually come with the stuff necessary for installation. If it does not for some reason, wire can be found locally.

My tach came with more than enough wire. I mounted it to the steering column. All you need to buy his a 3 inch hose clamp for that. As far as the oil gauge it is mounted in the instrument panel on the right side of the speedometer. On the left side I installed a volt meter. Check out my thread and you will see pictures of the dash. 64 f 100 restoration I believe I titled it.
