Unless you plan on running your truck around a road course, there is no benefit. That stuff is expensive, and is only needed in the most extreme cases.
You can use ANYTHING as long as it meets the spec. That means 5w20 and API SN. Whether it's the most expensive brand out there or store brand from Wal-Mart your truck will not care. Synthetics are great for easier cold starting and the ability to run longer, but that's about it.
I'm doing my first oil change at 2000 miles. I'll be using Mobile 1 5w20. I want a little better oil than the blended stuff. About $10 more for the synthetic oil, but IMO, worth it.
You might as well use full synthetic! Most sports cars vett, beamers have used synthetic for a long time. I've ran Amsoil for the last 20yrs! In cars, trucks,a tv, jet ski, sleds. No problems!
