BPD FICM failure? **Updated info and new questions**
#46
Keep us posted. I'm wondering, since I also recently had an event of inadequate electrical power and also an ABS CEL pop up during the event, if the VSS (or other associated hardware) is susceptible to failure like the FICM.

Hope that leg is healing up alright for ya.

I will. I'm taking it back in the morning. If the correct part is in Jacksonville then I'll have it in my hands Tuesday and then give it a try. It has to be voltage related because it was fine before.
The leg is a pain in my *** but its getting better. I should be in a walking cast in about 3 weeks...

One month later...
The truck runs great. The ABS light is still on, the speedometer and cruise still don't work. I have replaced the VSS with a NAPA one and then a OEM one, throwing parts is too expensive. I have checked continuity of the harness from the ABS module to the rear differential and its as it should be. I've checked the voltages and grounds on the connector that goes to the ABS module.
So, either the ABS module is borked or the ABS module is not talking to the PCM. Before I go buy an ABS module (much too expensive for a test) does anyone have any other idea.
I should probably just take it somewhere, but that's expensive too...

The SGII will do a lot more than MPH.
Then with the Xguages on top of the basic stuff.
Just have a look here >>> Ford/Lincoln/Mercury Specific : Linear Logic : Home of the ScanGauge

I can almost positively assure you that it's a problem with the sensor or harness if you're not getting a reading at the SGII. I experienced the same problem less than 2 months ago and replaced both to get it fixed. Turned out to be a connection problem with the plug in and sensor but I never really found anything wrong.
