I got a call from Brian today, actually talked to him.... He said hes tried everything he could think of electrically and program wise to change the transmissions behavior, all the way down to swapping in a new PCM, and nothing would change it. So Wednesday hes going to pull the trans back out and tear it back down and go through everything to try and find the reasoning behind it. He said he dropped the pan and the fluid was a little dark but no real material in it that he could see. so the fluids already been swapped and its still acting up, hopefully he finds something.

That is enough to drive a trans guy crazy.

No doubt. Nothing worse than "fixing it" and it still isn't right. At least he's good to his word and is making it right. It's good to know there are still people out there that stand behind their stuff.

He's been great about it really, he and his apprentice have been working on it and neither of them can come up with a reason for it yet, he said now hes going to be looking for any sign of the clutch disc wearing funny, slipping i imagine, or something about internal seals not keeping fluid where it needs to be. I don't know if he can smell transmission fluid anymore after being around it for so many years, he didn't mention anything about the smell really... just said the fluid was darker than it should be.

Oh I'll bet Brian smells transmission fluid the way a connoisseur smells wine. He can probably get one whiff and tell you what brand of fluid, how long it's been in the truck, how hard it's been driven, when it was bottled, and whether the owner's wife has been messing around....

I like the new avatar. I started reading your post and was asking myself "who the heck is this guy!?" Lol.

I am sure Brian will get it figured out. This is his specialty, so I'm sure he will track it down whatever it takes.

That will give you gray hairs. I suppose you found it impossible to talk to Brian himself!

Yea I've tried to call several times since 1130 and gotten no answer, I know they were probably going to lunch but I need to know exactly what's going on, I have friends who were also taking off work early to make this trip with me.

Well finally got to talk to brian himself again, he said he had some issues he didn't get fixed up yesterday and ran over into today so he isn't as far along with it as he would like to be but should have it done tomorrow. That being the case I can understand that and accept that and as long as I get it back tomorrow I will be fine. Here's to hoping everything holds up for tomorrow

Here's hoping.

I can identify with things not going how you hoped they would. That's a tough spot to be in on both ends.

Well called at 1130 today and talked to the secretary, she said brian was wrapping up putting the trans back in, and I should be able to pick it up today, I haven't actually gotten to talk to him yet today so I don't know what failed but he should be calling me later, I'm leaving here at 230 to head down and get it.
