I also would de burr it and smooth it up. And I don't like patina either.
It just looks unfinished. You have a heck of a lot of time into it already.
So finish it up nice and purrdy. I wonder if the powder coat chrome stuff
would hold up on this?

i dont know if it will or not. the high temp powders dont offer chrome. Cerackote offers a nice chrome that i may use for intake and headers......

It is good to 1300 degrees F. I am hoping the super charger won't heat the exhaust beyond it.

In pic 4 it looks to me like your method of fab for weld was to put the inside corners side to side which in my opinion is the best way to get a good penetration weld and a large enough weld to get a nice finish with an 1/8 inch round at least. With that type of fabrication when you look in the inside at the weld you should see little mounds to the inside which means you have put that much metal thickness in. Stay away from the weld edges as much as possible and you will get it. Your sanding devise is always perpendicular to the surface. Horizontal side until weld is flush with flat 16 ga staying off the 16 ga, than vertical side until weld is flat with 16 ga staying off the 16 ga watch the scratches on the flat the further they go out the more you are sanding on the flat, after these two steps are done than you are ready to shape your round which should not take that much. You can either spot weld your lows and polish or it becomes up to you on how far you want to go

The headers and pipes on my 33 are metallic ceramic coated, which is the same as the cermakrome just doesn't have the shiny stuff in it. I have been driving the 33 for 4 years now and they still look like day one. My son has a 54 ford and we used the cermakrome on the intake and exhaust and we have been driving it since 05, they have discolored a little but really not that bad as for him to want to redo them.
I an an avid believer in this stuff.
Here is a little more info on the coating.

Bud, I said it and you heard it. The welds are great. Maybe some could do
that without having to dress it up with a grinder. Not I for sure. But some
dressing it needs for sure. Or not. Leaving it as is would be so custom and
show off the welding. It's all in what you want. What do friends and family
say about it? The folks that know you and don't understand or see the
beauty in the weld, what are they saying? Them that you have shown it to.
How do they react? This is what I would go by. When you take it to a show
what will be said about it? In fact if me I would do just that. Show it and see
what kind of feed back you get. If the majority say it is to ruff than dress it
up. As of now folks will comment on it. But dressed up than they wont see
the work you put into it unless you point it out to them. Just saying.

Just curious, was there any science behind the shape and design, or just something you whipped up and said 'that looks good'? 'Cause it does look great. Very shapely and symmetrical.

It looks good. I would have changed a few things like extending a little bit of intake past the 1st and 6th runner to avoid them running lean/getting less flow but the OP shouldnt have too much of an issue.

As for the welds, Id grind them where you can to dress it up a bit.

If you grind it, you have to go all the way.
