Anyone know where to get a OBDII code reader locally?

As if I needed another issue my wife called all panicky last night, her Sonata would barely run after pulling away from a stoplight. Idles slightly fast and huge hesitation when you step on gas.

I'm already working on my 1989, 1990 and now her car. Neither old van will start now. Went to start the other van and it wouldn't start either! OMG.

3 out of 4 vehicles take a crap at the same time. Only my 2006 work van left.

You should be able to pick up a relatively inexpensive one at a local auto parts store. Autozone and O'Reilly's both sell them. Probably $50-$75. Even cheaper on Amazon but it doesn't sound like you can wait. Sorry to hear of your troubles - going through something similar right now myself. Sucks.

Thanks gcvt. In my desperation I went to O'reilly's and bought the best reader they had. $282. I bought it because they told me it has live scan and fix assist.

I bring it home, it does nothing but give you plain codes. The cheap reader does the exact same thing for $250 less. NON RETURNABLE.

Went on Innova website, they want $9.99 to help. Signed up, gave VISA info, proceed to check out and it kicks me off the internet! I have no idea if they got me for $9.99 or not. I even got a "Congratulations" page.

I am so pissed I took my old TouchPad out back and smashed it into pieces, lol.

Now my wife thinks I'm crazy. I need a beer. I am so fubar-ed.

My mechanic won't be able to look at it until next week. Now I'm a taxi service for 4 people.

Hmm, sounds like either I've got the VannerDude luck or you've got the gcvt luck.

Also sounds to me like if the scanner doesn't do what they claimed, it is returnable.

Sorry you're having a rough time.

Well, going off 'the link' in my 'back w/ 1989 van' thread, I created the LED tester described there. And I think have identified the culprit on my sons' van. I ordered the Ignition Control Module, due here next Monday. Hopefully that gets me back to square one working on his smog check fail code.

I just need to figure out how I'm getting everyone where they need to go Monday in my two seater.

Thanks brother for letting me exhaust some gas here. I appreciate it.

Now I'm back to testing mine. I got cylinder misfire codes on my wifes. Don't have enough info off the webs to figure out where to start.

EDIT: I popped the hood on my 1989 and have spark. I popped the hood on my wife's car and don't have spark on two wires off one of the coils. It's apparently running on 4 of 6 cylinders.
