Looking at a new Truck. Advice

I went and looked today at a 1996 f350 cclb single rear wheel and 2wd for my wife.
Truck has 185k Mls on it and is automatic. It does need a good cleaning and some small repairs as well as tires.
Here is my concern however: I took it on a test drive. When taking off, it takes forever to get moving. Engine rom comes up to about 1900 with wide open throttle, but it feels like I'm standing on the brakes at the same time.. Truck rolls freely and brakes are not locked. Once she finally gets up to a little speed, transmission shifts and does not slip. No check engine light is on and she does not smoke.

Any thoughts?

I would have thought she might not be getting enough fuel and don't have the power to take off.. Something engine related. Transmission fluid looks good and is not burned.... Engine oil is a little low. No leaks anywhere though .

They wanted 5200 before I drove it .. Body I straight with no dents , paint is scratched but should polish out .hood and roof has faded paint . Truck is an xlt . Driver seat is a little wore down but not tore. It does have a bed liner and a ranch hand rear bumper . I should get a different price on Monday .

If it is only coming up to 1900 rpms with the pedal all the way down, then there maybe be another issue there too. Could be a high pressure oil issue. Weak pump or sticking IPR maybe. If the trans was slipping the rpms would be way more than 1900 at WOT I would think. Could be something in the trans holding it back too maybe. I don't know much about auto trans.

Thanks for the input. Personally I am kinda with Bill's thought, that it should be somewhere engine related. I just can't think of a reason that the transmission would bog the engine down like that..
In any case, I will let you guys know, how low they go.

Btw, here is the link to some pictures:

The truck has different rims and tire on than the picture show and it does no longer have the grill guard.

Not a bad looking truck, but I am with Mike and Brad on the price. About $3k would be the absolute most I'd put in it. Could be anywhere from $500 to $2500 to fix any problems.
