Question 99 Ranger Subwoofer Box

I am looking to put subs in my Ranger. It is an extended cab and I would like to be able to utilize at least one of my jump seats. I have measured the dimensions and was wondering if anyone knew how I could get a fairly cheap (around 100 dollar) sub box that would allow for me to use a jump seat. I've been on ebay, but all the downfiring boxes end up being too tall to allow the seats to go down. Please help.

That's going to be very tough to find a decent prefab box that will fit completely under the jumpseat, while still allowing enough room for the sub to "breathe".

Do people actually use the jumpseat behind the driver's seat? I'm 6"3' and the jumpseat behind my seat is useless...because my seat is back so far...well it WAS back far. I built a 1.7 cuft. sealed enclosure behind it to house my sub. I figure, since there is no room for anyone, not even a troll, to sit behind me, I might as well use that space to install my sub. You're most likely going to have to build a custom box, and if you want it to be completely "hidden" under the jumpseat (when it's folded down) you are going to have to go with a 8" sub (there are plenty of good one's out there, so don't fret).

You are 100% correct but I found one person can squeeze back there as long as they sit sideways. I know I'll need that option so thats my reasoning for wanting a sub box that will allow for its use. I did find a dealer who was more than willing to help me out and is building a box that will allow the use of one jump seat.

Yeah, my passenger side jumpseat is still usable...if you're tiny You could always have a box in the middle, straddling the trans hump. That would allow both jumpseats to be used, and allow for the use of a bigger/better sub.

Just a thought.

I got a 98 Ranger. I see you are looking for a box that will fit your ranger and save a jump seat. I would let you have my box for DIRT CHEEP! It is 2.25 net cubic feet tuned to 35hz with a 2x12 port opening. It is for a single 12" sub.

I live in DeKalb as of now, but I'm moving to North Aurora next week. Lemme know if you're interested. Plus I could help ya out with your install if you need it

is there any way to put a box in the hole that is created when the jump seat is in the usable position. there seem to me some space there but it is rather limited. i am looking at putting a 10" or 8" in there. thanks

I'm also have this same dilemma. I would like to find a box that would allow BOTH seats to be used...yes I'm picky, but I have passengers that can fit back there comfortably (small).
