Cold start whine

Disappears @ around 2 1/2 minutes. Starts at around 10 seconds. 6F degrees out.
20,000 mi. fresh mobile 1.
Any ideas before I go to the dealer?

My truck has been doing the same thing when it's cold. Keep us updated if you figure out what is causing it. Thanks

Power steering pump is what it sounds like to me. I've had a few different trucks do this.

I have a 2012 6.2 that I bought in Oct. 2012. This truck has made the same noise since it was new and the weather gets cold. The dealer has had the truck 12 times and replaced, belt, pulley, alternator, power steering pump, tensioners. This issue has been so frustrating! They have an engineer involved finally! Good luck getting it fixed. Please let us know if you get it fixed.

It got up to 35 degrees today and my truck didnt make the noise at all, i think it is definitely temperature related.

Mine's been doing it since day 1. Only when it's cold out, definitely temp related.

Wow!

Glad I found this thread... my 2015 did it for the first time yesterday! I almost shut it off thinking something was "BAD" wrong! It was the coldest day yet that I have actually had to start it up - it was like +7 with a windchill of -5. I let it go and it quieted down a bit from the initial sound and then finally went away after about 6 or 7 minutes. As one other person stated, reminded me of a power steering pump with not enough fluid. I have subscribed to this thread! Truck only has 1800 miles on it...

Regards,

Jim D

I'm starting to get sinking feeling that bootit may not be the only
one with a chronic "can't fix" problem. I always remote started mine
from in the house. I'll be paying attention to see if it comes back!
