1952 F1 with Deluxe 5 Star cab

I bought a new project truck today. It is a 1952 F-1 with a Deluxe 5 Star cab. It has 48K miles on the odo and it appears those are correct miles.

The truck has a Colo title and had 1975 plates on it. It has been in Nevada since 1975. It has been apart since 1992, but stored indoors until just 7 weeks ago.

You can see the trim on windshield and the vent window, it has armrest on both doors, locking glove box, key locks on both doors etc. Hood has Deluxe trim on hood sides.

It comes Mustang II front suspension parts, no engine or trans or rear axle, no bumpers, no steering column or wheel. It has a solid frame with no rust or damage, I found the VIN stamped in it just by rubbing my fingers on the frame!

VIN decodes to a F-1 V8 truck built in Kansas City.

It is going to be a big project, but I do have some great solid parts to start with.

The guy who took the truck apart stated to make a rat rod out of it, so he punched those holes in the bed wings. Later, he had a change of heart, and I am glad he did, truck is way too good to be made into a rat rod.

There are two large horns mounted to the underside of the hood, one on each side. It also has a dome light above the rear window.

In 51 and 52, 5 Star Extra was the name for the deluxe cab. The standard cab was a 5 Star.

The Extra is not rare. The included options were a drivers door lock, twin horns, 2 visors, lighted cigar lighter, a dome light with door switches, armrests, a locking glove box, additional hood trim bars, stainless windshield trim and window divider bars, different seat upholstery.

To find one is as good shape as yours looks to be is fairly rare. All the stainless looks to be excellent. Good luck with your project.

Well, went and got the new project truck this morning. All those parts piled up outside the seller's garage, well we built a truck out of them.

I made 4 frame supports out of 2x10s, put them onto my car trailer, then set the frame on those. Then 4 of us picked up the cab and walked it onto the frame. Then we added the front end, then the bed. We tied it all down, and headed home.

Hey Walt,
Welcome Aboard! Do you still have that nice yellow '49 F1 as well?
Did you get a good deal on the parts you picked up? That cab alone looks a great score!

Looking good in Nevada!
