1992 F-150 instrument cluster swap with tach

Just needing a quick answer, and hopefully someone can help me with this.

I have a '92, F-150, AOD. I found a guy selling a gauge cluster for '92-93 with tach. Will this cluster work if it was previously for an E4OD? I only have the "PRNOdD1". E4OD truck clusters have the added "2". I do have another cluster w/tach, but it's from a '94, and it has the "2" as well for column shifter.

I haven't gotten into the entire swap yet, but I have on my standard, so I can't say im familiar with the automatic side of clusters.

Thanks again for any suggestions, ideas, and help.

The little shift pattern thing that also contains the control cable for the needle that shows which gear you are in unbolts from the cluster with 2 screws. Use a small 1/4 inch drive socket on a screwdriver handle works best.

The different transmissions won't be a problem anyway. I don't think anything else will either, but if it is someone here will let you know.

The cluster interchangability is 92 and 93, 94 and 95, 96. As long as you get a 92 or 93 cluster it will work. Just swap the PRNDL indicator cable.

I just did this on my 97HD. In order to keep it legal, you have to keep the PSOM which pops out. This is the center piece that shows the MPH and your mileage. It's very easy to replace, the hardest part is getting you hands under the cluster to get to unplug the three connectors. The whole job including replacing all the lights with LED's took about 20 minutes.

Over 10 years old should be exempt for correct odometer reading. But it is nice to have correct mileage displayed.

Just swap your whole speedo into the new cluster. It will go right in.
