If you were sticking with EFI I'd suggest the Crane 444232, with that cam and longtube headers on an otherwise stock 5.8EFI you'll have impressive gains over the 5.slow with no other changes under the hood.

If you go the expensive route and put a carb on the motor then use one of Comp cams XE grinds.
I see why no one really goes down the route of carbing these trucks after doing my homework a little more, kinda feel like a dunce for buying that carb intake now especially since my brain decied to start working for once this weekend and tell myself that I already have everything for fuel injected style swap except for a cam and a proper intake. Still up in the air at the moment. Kinda just wanna go cheap and use the stock 5.8 intake for efi but at the same time I don't want that to be such a restriction that any other mods I've done won't even be noticeable. Thoughts on this possible idea? When I say I have everything I mean that I have all the stuff off of the 5.0 a 5.8 computer a 5.8 dizzy, all the old wiring from the truck injections fuel regulator and anything else I can grab from a local junkyard for a decent price. Just need an intake. Sorry if I'm sorta back and forth on carb and efi I got allot of folks telling me carb it carb it bro but my own knowledge and experience says i should know better and stick to what will work and do a good job for me.
