Ford F1 48-52 Steel Front Fenders & Hood

Just received the Oct 2014 Dennis Carpenter Catalog and noticed they are "developing" F1 (48-52) Steel Front Fenders and Hood. I provided my email to be notified when they become available. I assume they want to see how much interested there is out there. I wanted to get the word out because Im interested :-) and hope more show interested so its worthwhile for them.

The fender dies are made, so these will be available soon! Initial hits have been made. They are in the final adjustment stages. Hoods will probably be a while yet.

Thats great to hear. I have original fenders but they need a lot of work. Im hoping the price will be reasonable, comparable to the midfifties fenders that are available.

I didn't ask Dennis what he thought they would sell for, but the rears are only 700.00 each, so I would guess somewhere in that range? Certainly much cheaper than NOS or perfect originals if you could find them, or paying a body shop to fix your originals. I'm just thrilled that they will be available, no matter what the cost. I hope to have them here in April.

Are they doing both 48-50 and 51-52? And are they doing lower sections too? Just in case I live long enough to do the Ranger! Stu

1948-50 and 1951-52, uppers and lowers. 1948-50 will be out first, then 1951-52 soon after. Hoods will be a while yet. Eventually, the plan is to make complete cabs!

I keep looking for the accelerator return spring to be available any day!

This is good news, my originals are toasted as well and my body shop buddy is cringing at the amount of work it will take to make mine look any good. After all the body work we have done so far and the amount of work it takes, new fenders would be awesome to slap on.

PS. I just noticed how long its taking me to make 1500 posts haha.

Can't you buy such springs at your local auto parts store?

Of course, by the time I spend on getting the front fenders for my 51 restored, I'll be about $2k into them. It would be cheaper to buy new reproduction fenders and get them painted. I'm past the point of no return. It's not financially feasible to stop now and wait for the repros.

Oh well, maybe on the next truck...

Any word? It's been almost a year. I need fronts for my restore and I'm hoping these are still in the works and not abandoned

I wonder if i will every live long enough to see some Coe fenders in steel or fiberglass. Maybe a complete tilt front end. By then i will be too poor to afford them anyway on a retirement pension.
