old truck problem

my uncle recently bought a 53 ford truck for 1000 from an old farmer,we aired up the tires and towed it the 20 miles or so home got the original motor running got a trip permit and drove it slowly to the state patrol office about 10 miles away to have it inspected(couldn't find the title) the lady cop looked it over and put a new vin plate on it (old one was scratched up to much, she didn't know what she was doing) drove it back home all happy and was tinkering with the carb when the state patrol pulled up in the front driveway told us to put the tools down and step away from the car.he needed to reinspect the car right this time he found the old vin no. on the frame and gave my uncle another new vin plate that matched original by where nevous but he only had to pay for one inspection. the truck has a new motor in it and a modern tranny and runs good.the only problem he has is he kept the old differential and it couldn't handle the 302 and 4 spd auto

Congrats on the purchase of your new truck. You got to show us some pictures. And come over to the 48-56 forum.
