I have a 2014 F150 5.0 with borla exhaust and it sounds great. It doesn't rain alot, but in colorado it snows it's fair share and no Alternator issues.

Have a '12 5.0 absotutely love it, no issues. Had a '05 5.4 good truck, couldnt afford to drive it, bought a '09 4.6 great gas mileage but a guttless turd on the road. Now I have the best of both worlds. 5.0 3:73 with a hvy duty payload and towing pkg.

'12 5.0 FX4. I have 34k on it and I'm very happy still. I take very good care of it but I work with it a lot! I haul all the time. Wish I had some pics for you. I use it in many different terrains as well. My best upgrade has been the leveling kit and Nittos.
I have nothing against the ecoboost they have a little more power but the 5.0 will haul anything it will. And I can say that amongst my friends they're ecoboosts have had more issues than mine...which is at zero still.

It's not normal. If you can't get a dealer to cooperate with you, you can always take an oil sample and send it in for analysis. My truck had bearing material in the oil pan. An oil analysis will either give you a leg to stand on with the dealer if something is found in it or if not put your mind at ease.

Yea dealer isnt cooperating, But Ford CS is helping now,Just got off the phone with them. They called me to see if anything has been done. She is going to escalate it along with the link to my vid to an engineer/Rep. I am impressed with that part of it. It seems like they realy want to get it resolved for me.
As for the oil sample, I think thats a great idea, I have about 600 miles on this oil now so how many miles should I put on before the sample?

It would probably show now if any metal is present. See what CS can do for you and if it don't work out then get it sampled.

Yep

Yes ! Its a gas engine....... That's what they sound like, a tic there, a whine here and there, and those change in tune when the temp is cold or hot..... The only noise free engine is one that is not running....

Typically it's nothing to worry about, BUT these have a track record of little ticks and noises being a tell for a problem with deformed cylinder.

Thanks for the 5.0 discussion

I am thinking of replacing my '01 Screw, 5.4, 4wd, with 270k.
Prettymuch like the idea of less moving parts compared with the Ecoboost
The '01 runs great, just want to replace before retirement.

I got 33k on the clock and I love my 2012 5.0 with 3:55 it gets 21 on the freeway and 18 around town. towing it gets 9 to 11 mpg and I have not found anything it cant handle, dirt bikes in it, TT 9700 LBS behind it, in mud, snow, sand, its a solid truck!
plus its the only truck I have ever owned that puts a smile on my face every time I set in it and drive it!
