will 2008 engine work into a 2001

I have a 2001 F250 5.4l v8 gas that has a blown head gasket, I can get a 2008 engine 5.4l made for a 4x4 f250. Can anyone tell me if it will fit and what change I need to make.

The bottom end of the block will bolt in and work. But the 3-valve cylinder heads on top of it will not, without extensive re-wiring and custom tuning that are not worth the trouble and expense on a 15 year old truck.
