1961....body is going pretty quick but some tin and caulk fixed it up pretty good. I snagged the cab at my local JY.
I save the "I care how this looks" effort for the Fords.

What JY do you have good luck with finding things at for a fair price? I use to have good luck with Paul's in Hammond but these days it is different. There use to a place called Dimitt's in Plymouth I don't know if it is still there but he has ton's older car's and trucks.
Personally for a 1961 that thing is holding up pretty good for living it's life here in NW Indiana.
It has that survivor look going for it! I dig it !!

Pauls was sold to some national outfit. SMS I think. My local one in Westville has pretty much eliminated everything older than 1980. What used to be truck heaven is now a row of freakin mini vans.

There is another one off of HWY 30 just after Knox but I have never stopped in. I also have seen a couple small one's along HWY 6 past Westville.

If you ever want to go on a day trip...let me know...I'm in!!!

Marc I would like to take a day this spring and go and cruise the local bone yards for some old treasures. I seen the signs with SMS & Paul's so figured it would go down hill even more. Nowadays it seems all the good old bone yards with the cool old stuff are all but disappeared. Like you said they all about the scrap metal and not so much a used parts yard.

Going to the JY use to be something that I really enjoyed. It was almost a religious thing to where you would cruise the yard searching for some old treasures. Back before the interweb and the growth of the aftermarket parts if you wanted to build a hot rod you would go hunting for parts in JY. So for me I would love to get back to my roots and start checking out some bone yards again! These days I don't have any friends that want to cruise bone yards. They would rather buy new trucks and they no longer care to build stuff.
So Let's Do it !! We can find all the JY's from Valpo to South Bend I am sure we can find one or two that still have the "Good Stuff"
Hopefully

Today would be a losing battle in trying to heat a barn. I now kick myself in the butt for NOT going with a heated floor when I built my garage. I won't go out even try to heat it unless it is above 35* or I'm just losing a battle with mother nature. Honestly it is COLDER than cold. This morning it was 3* not including wind chill.

And for you guys that live in the middle or southern part of the Indiana. It is hard describe what it is like here in NW Indiana. Here at the south end of Lake Michigan which happens to be over 300 miles from north to south. When we have 50mph winds like we did yesterday it whips down from the north across Lake Michigan we get lake effect snow, white out blizzard conditions and bitter wind chills.

Personally I'm too old for this $#*+
