clutch issues please help

How's it going? Yesterday after work I started my truck
And went to leave but the clutch pedal lost pressure
And went to the floor. I couldn't shift the truck into gear.
I checked the fluid it was a little low so I added some dot3
And tried to pump the pedal, it didn't come back.
Started the truck in 2nd and gimped it home.

I searched and read a bunch of posts that led me to the
Slave/master. Pulled the slave and cycled it by hand and
Had someone make sure the fluid didn't get too low.
The pressure in the pedal came back.

Reinstalled the slave and now the pedal only
Goes down halfway, not even enough to start
The truck.

Did I install the slave wrong? Other thoughts?
I plan to replace the master and slave but
If I'm just doing something wrong id like to
To figure it out.

Any help is much appreciated

Truck is. 1999 f250 7.3 <acronym title="Four Wheel Drive">4x4</acronym> w a <acronym title="ZF 6 speed manual transmission">zf6</acronym>

Thanks

nah, your going about it the right way, but after a few mishaps, i found it easier to just replace the m/s assy (pre-bled unit) as a whole. However, im afraid that you just experienced a bent clutchfork. Remove the slave again and measure from the outside hole til the tape measure bottomes out against the fork. Should be around 2-3/4in...the permanent fix is the upgraded fork.

You pull the trigger on a pre-bled unit, go with Advanced Auto assy..p/n PF9021...its an all aluminum construction

Sorry to say it sounds like a bent fork. 4" means the end of the fork isn't where it's supposed to be.

Here's mine.

unfortunately, to fix the problem, the tranny must be divorced from the motor

Here's a shot of what I am seeing

This is the screen on an inspection camera showing what I suspect to be metal shavings in the bottom of the bell housing.

If I have to drop the trans I would guess it's a good time to put a clutch in

Clutch depends on your mileage. I usually get over 200k out of mine. A new pilot bushing would be a good idea though as a minimum.

When you do drop the tranny, here's what you'll see.
