So I've got a question for anyone who has installed pop-out windows in a supercab with original fixed windows. The latching half is not a problem, but I'm wondering about the hinged side. Where the hinges originally welded in or anything? When I removed the windows from donor truck the hinges were just resting into their slots in the cab, with some old rubber grommet type things with old silicone residue or something. Installing them in mine should just involve cutting small slots in cab to recess hinges, and ( I think two?) holes to mount latch at rear, is that right? I have the different weatherstipping, just wondering about how to attach leading edge hinge into cab. Thanks!

 

The plastic hinges just snap into the slots. Your donor ones must have been broke. New ones snap in tight. I really don't know how to get them back off without breaking them.

 

I don't know about all dents but my 79 had original fixed windows and when I went to pop out ones it had the hinge holes already there. You may have the hinge holes already there too.
