From bad to worse

So, this is the sound I have coming from both wheel wells and I don't think this is going to be pretty. What am I looking at here? Do I need to rob a bank?

Are your bellows on the up-pipes broken/leaking? I hear this is fairly common on these engines. If that s the case I think to repair cab has to come off or transmission out to get the pipes in and out. Aftermarket has ones way better built than Navistar ones.

Ok so to check this just go under to truck and look up at the back of the engine and it should be in sight?

The part that breaks is the mesh looking material which is about halfway between the exhaust manifold and the turbo. If they are leaking you should see soot all over the firewall and back side of engine.

You might have better luck pulling the inner fender well to see. There is only 7 or 8 bolts/screws that hold it in. Very easy to get it removed and look up in there.

Is there any way it's a belt or tensioner issue?
It's hard to say from a video.

Have you replaced all your belts and tensioners and idlers yet?
Or all of them are still factory?

The high pitched whistle on accel sounds like air pressure, Blown manifold or up-pipe.

I would look here first as-well, also if the belts get and contaminants or starts to fail it will squeal like this. I had a 6.4 that had a bad seal on the egr valve, the oil mist in the intake from the CCV was enough oil to get on the belt and cause a squeal. Repaired the o-ring, replaced the belt problem solved.

I would also inspect the belt tensioner and possibly the alternator for a failed bearing. Another quick check is to remove the main belt and see it the issue goes away, it would eliminate the belt and accessories and redirect you to other possible issues.

If i had to guess I'm thinking the alternator, but thats just a good guess from internet land!
