94 f150 gt40p

I have a 94 f150 5.0 with a comp cam (35-349-8) and gt 40p heads. It runs great I love the cam and heads I was just wondering how to delete the smog pump and all the other stuff that goes with it (since heads have no holes in the back for emissions) without having the check engine light come on ?

you can remove anything related to the smog pump and no codes will be present.

there is nothing in the engine management system to sense that the air pump is functioning or not.

rip it off, get a smaller belt, sleep well at night.

One thing to keep in mind...you have to keep the TAB/TAD solenoids electrically connected to keep the computer happy.

For reference:

The Ford service manual refers to it as the "radio capacitor". It shunts the AC component (coil switching On/Off) from the supply voltage (DC) to ground. It prevents that AC component from creating noise in the radio audio circuits.

On points style ignition circuits it's part of the RC circuit to charge the coil. ON HEI ignitions like this vintage truck has it's there only for electrical noise suppression.

And yes............I like pictures!
