Idle speed is set at the factory on the throttle body by a long grub screw. Your never suppose to touch it, then the computer keeps the idle set with the IAC valve
Why's the V10 idle so high compared to the 5.4 in the super duty especially since the V10 is just a 5.4 with two extra cylinders? The 5.4 is 600-700rpm I recall...
The only thing that I have ever seen idol that low (500-600rpm) is very old in-line engines, like my Oliver super 55 gas tractor and it recommends a minimum of something like 70 octane gas.
My 04 F350 with the 5.4 idles at 650ish and thats for as long as i can remember it being, NOW if thats wrong and too low maybe thats why I'm having all these problems with my truck stalling when i first start it up?
