Can't find gas station thread, but

Wow I found these, My fathers filling station. #1 the first, in late 1932 to
1933 a new highway came so the house was moved across the street where
it is now. #2 1932,33 new filling station, #3 the new and present station
taken by me in the centennial in 1962. My father retired in 1977 at 70rys old
and sold it. A twist in fate. Today this station, the only one full service around
I mean a real shop engine rebuilding etc. So the twist is we intend to buy it
back probably keeping the same 5 empoyers.
I am typing from that very house and my father was born in there not in no
hospitol along with 6 brothers delegated to farm work. My father hated
farm work (refused as a boy) so my grandfather got him into gas and see
the vegtable stand. Socony went to Tydol, Atlantic Richfield in 1939 to his retirement,
Now it is Citgo. The pic with the Terraplane shows the new highway
sam

pictures are out order but you can tell the oldest on up

Love the Moxie sign. I have a little reproduction one above my workbench.

I drink that stuff every week. Quite popular around here.

Thanks for sharing the photos and story.

In that last picture, I've been trying to figure out the wagon by the house, looks to be either a '61 Rambler or a '61 Falcon.

Yes that is a Falcon Wagon. Thanks for the pic's and history. I
went back to my Home town back around 2000. The Gas station
I worked at when I was 13 is still there and still owned by the
same family. I am 61 years old if that gives you a time line.

Great pics, Sam. How did you get into the excavating business. I thought you took it over from your Dad? Or did he do both the gas station and excavating?
