Louvered Doors

Hi,

My house has a pair of louvered kitchen doors that should be replaced -- only I can't find any.

The deal is that they're not bifold -- just 2 separate doors that butt together when closed. I can't find anything lie that with the right dimensions. You can get custom shutters in the right size, but they're vinyl, and I don't think that I can cut them out for hinges.

I'm wondering if I could get some regular bifolds like the ones here:
Shop ReliaBilt Louvered Solid Core Pine Bifold Closet Door (Common: 36-in x 80.75-in; Actual: 35.5-in x 79-in) at Lowes.com

Then I could take them apart and mount them with hinges on the outside.

Does that sound like a plan -- or does somebody have a better option?

Thanks,

hj

You could take a bifold door apart, or lowes can order the louvered slabs or a prehung unit
What size do you need?

If you want to keep the french door style and you have a 36" opening you can do 2 18"slabs, full louvered solid pine for about $90 each. (At least in tn, it may be more in your area)
