Hello, I have 2000 E250 van that I put a new transmission in about 4 years ago. Worked perfectly until recently it doesn't shift to the lower gears. So it wants to start out in like 3rd or 4th gear. So it barely makes it from a stand still position and then starts working pretty good after getting up to like 30 m.p.h. Going up a hill or small incline at a lower speed. Barely makes it.

 

I'd guess that something is wrong. With all the detail you provided on your van that's as close as I can get.

What engine is in it? Also, look on the data tag in the driver's door opening. Under TR will be either an E or a U. I need to know which one of those to be able to offer any help.

 

under transmission it has the U. it it the Triton v8 engine
