When I ordered my 2005, I opted for the XLT for a couple reasons.
First, I wanted the chrome bumpers and grille..which were not available on anything above the XLT. Next, the Eddie Bauer and Limited versions came with the tan interior that I didn't want. The only things I couldn't order in the XLT was automatic climate control and fog lights. (I added the factory fog lights.)

I wish they were black.
That XLT has backup sensors.
I don't have backup sensors on my Limited.
I've seen XLTs with fog lights too.
No fog lights on my Limited.

I have the black bumpers, but looking for heavier ones front and rear.

That does seem a bit off. Fog lights should have been standard after the XLT and the backup sensors probably standard all around. I have all of that. I don't mind the tan interior since all of my other cars and trucks have been grey.

I know the options swapped around a bit....I can only speak to 2005. I managed to get all the paperwork, order forms, etc from the dealer.
I thought it was messed that the base model and XLT did't come with...nor were foglights an option from the factory.
I knew a guy that ordered his 2005 Limited right after my XLT arrived. He asked why I ordered the XLT as opposed to the Limited. I explained the chrome bumper situation. He thought I was wrong and the dealer said he'd get chrome with the Limited. We crossed paths a number of weeks later and the dealer was wrong...and he had them add the chrome bumpers after the truck arrived.
On that paperwork, they did list another wheel option that never came available.
Looking at the new car sticker ...I ordered my 2005 XLT in True Blue with Grey cloth, with 3:73 LSD, 4x4 Trailer Tow Group, Transfer Case Skid Plate, 6CD, Adjustable Pedals, XLT Travel Package, Reverse Sensing System, Cloth Captian's Chairs.
