Why do pretty much all 4WD trucks have torsion bar front suspension?

I've wondered this for awhile. I noticed that for the last decade-plus, every 4WD IFS full size truck has had torsion bar front suspension.

What's the advantage? Weight, durability? Less complex? Is it too hard to make coil springs work correctly on 4WD IFS?

I stand corrected, I see Ford still uses coil springs, but doesn't Dodge use torsion bars now?

Explorers and Rangers had them, makes a tidy package and saves some space.

Packaging primarily, with torsion bars you don't need a tall spring tower above the control arms.

well, that shows how much out of the loop i am.
but then again, i have no need for a car with an open trunk. if it can not legally carry 2000 lbs in the bed, i have no need for it and don't pay attention to it.
