Looking for a turbo for my 7.3 idi every were I'v looked only shows for powerstroke
(Note - you may already know this, but...)
That's because, generally speaking, it's an aftermarket component.
93-94 did have a stock turbo on the IDI as an OPTION, but it's rare.
Because of this, you don't just need a turbo, you need a turbo + exhaust piping + intake piping and adapters.
Generally speaking, there are three 'main' kits out there:
1. Banks Sidewinder - comes in "V1" non-wastegated and "V2" wastegated models. Castings are different between the two kits; the wastegated model is a lot easier to install with the engine in the vehicle.
2. Hypermax - Has their own kit; you may see them around. I don't know much about these.
3. ATS - They both made their own kit, and a modified version of their kit was used as Ford stock(the main difference with the Ford version being a squished up-pipe that robs performance).
If you are buying new, R&D(idiperformance.com) has their own kit that's /much/ better, but just as expensive as all the others.
If you are buying used, you kinda have to look around and see what you want.
If you are a fabricator who can make exhaust piping(up and down pipe), you can basically get whatever turbo you want for the power level you want to make. The standard kits(1,2, and 3) are all designed for stock motors and won't give you more than about 12 PSI at best. Good for a stock engine, not so much once you get headstuds in the picture.
88 VAN Steering wheel cruise control button horn panel
I'm looking for the cruise control button assembly for the steering wheel.
Funny thing, I got the van and the steering wheel doesn't have the cruise control. The horn doesn't work. Then I notice I've got everything for the cruise control but the buttons. Checked the diagram and the current horn button and found out it must have been swapped out at some point.
I verified the horn works per the ford factory cruise diagram. Funny thing is the way the horn button is now wired, the only function it would have is turn on the cruise. Somebody pulled a fast one on the PO.
I also found out the buttons I am looking for from the steering wheel should work with any Ford Bronco, pickup, van that had the cruise and horn buttons combined from about 1980 through 1991.
