I do not have a picture but I did a power antenna that is "frenched" into the drivers side of the cab behind the door in basically the same location as the fuel tank fill location which is on the other side. I welded in a tube that is flush with the curvature of the cab at that location.

Type in "hidden antenna" on fleabay and you'll find some good ones. They are so compact now that they can be tucked up behind the dash and never seen.

No matter what antenna system you come up with just make sure you have good ground from the outside metal of the radio to the truck's body. The shorter length of cable, wire or braid the better. Believe it or not the sheet metal is a part of the antenna system. I like to use a piece of braided ground strap that you can find in the Dorman HELP parts dept of your local auto parts store.

For my '37 Buick they used the running boards as the antenna, the boards were insulated from the car by ceramic type insulators. From what I've read they didn't work very good, signal would change when you changed directions. Also kind of an elaborate system. Not a suggestion but I thought I'd throw it out there.

On my 48 F-3, I laid a stock type antenna over the top of the passenger side window under the cardboard headliner. It worked well.
