1955 Ford F350 Truck Clutch, Brake, Hanging Pedal Assy Conversion

Hi All,
As much searching as I have done on this subject I am no closer. The results I have turned up are as follows:
  • Converting to a manual transmission and clutch assy CAN BE A DAUNTING TASK!
  • Hanging Brake Pedal assy only, Slush Boxes.u can use Volkswagen Universal Muffler Bearing Hanging Giraffe Pedal Assy from Super Shops in Sedonia Mars!
  • Sure!! I did the conversion! Just go over to my gallery and check out my PICS! Only to find the pics are from three hundred feet away. But very helpful non the less?

Im almost ready to pay for an answer?
I have resolved to drop in a Cummins 5.9 with a Fuller 6 Speed for now until I can go bigger.

  1. Is there a Hanging Pedal Kit for a 55 Ford Truck that has Power Brakes, and Hydraulic Clutch?
  2. Or, is there a Universal Hanging Pedal Kit with Power Brakes and Hydraulic Clutch that will half way work for a 55 Ford Truck?
  3. Or, what Hanging Pedal Assys from Exactly which Other Production Trucks will Work that have Power Brakes, Hydraulic Clutch?
I can fab something up with no issue, but it would be nice just to get that answer..... " Ahh Yes,,, you'll just have to fab something up! I can live with that. It gets a little trying at times to spend all that time searching almost ready to get some good info, good pictures that I can actually see only to be a little disappointed...
Its like getting all ready to eat a bucket load of your favorite ice cream that you stashed away only to find that there is only a table spoon of it left over.

Any simple help and info is greatly appreciated.... I have had to make concessions on this build as I have to keep it on the road....
Thanks
All.

I know nothing about your hanging pedals.

But I wonder if you used the Advanced Search function here on FTE.

Using Advanced Search, I got 13 hits for hanging pedals. Maybe this doesn't answer your questions either, but I know a standard search never shows me anything I want to see.

I got these results in Advanced Search for hanging pedals in the 48-56 forum.

The 1959 I have has hanging petals and hydraulic clutch on the firewall . Check with the 57-60 guys , they might just have a solution for your troubles .They will know way more than me about the later trucks.

Check out the pics in my build!

Seriously, I have decent pics of the pedal set I am using in my first F1 build below, 1993 to 1997 GM F body (camaro, firebird) that use power brakes and a hydraulic clutch setup with a hydraulic slave cylinder.
1998 to 2002 F body pedals are similar and used a hydraulic system with a hydraulic throwout bearing.

Hi Guys,
I appreciate the feedback, effort and help. I think I need to give up and resolve myself to fabbing a set of hanging pedals. Unfortunately, Its a time thing for me ,,, I just have to jam it out and get it done... without the info.... wish I had time to go through 30-40 pages to find a good pic, but unfortunately I don't...
(My Day Job) I design and build websites for a living,,, I have never been happy with how most of these Forum/Word Press Software Applications Search Functions work. So when it comes to expectations of User Experience I have the patients of a two year old! AND, My truck is a daily driver, I don't have the luxury of down time. Im actually desiging and building front disc brake conversion for the F350 Stock Straight Axle, 8 lug, with 3 link, Airbags, Dropped, PS, PB, but this is my shop truck that I TOW a 24 tool trailer, Junk, or whatever else,,, No one has ever bothered with converting the stock stuff over to modern truck wheels, brakes, etc.... and keep the ratings... Cant Tow with Pinto Suspensions
Think I need to use a Hanging set of pedals out of a truck, class 5,6,7,8?
Thanks all for your time.

I would like to know this also. I want to use a later model ford manual transmission that has the hydraulic throw out bearing if my 5.0 is rebuildable.

Im sourcing a solution as we speak.... When I get further details I will post here,,, looks like a range of Ford Trucks will work with and without a Hydraulic Clutch and will work around the steering column without modifications.
