intercooler to TB pipe blew apart.

intercooler to TB pipe blew apart.
Had a big WTF moment today. I was accelerating up to speed to join the thruway after getting diesel (in the middle of nowhere NY state ). when there was a bang sound and the truck stumbled hard. I was at no more than 2500rpm maybe half throttle. Having owned turbo cars that liked to blow intercooler tubes apart this felt familiar. When I opened the hood the intercooler to TB pipe had had exploded. ( insert lots of profanity directed at my truck ) called AAA and waited for my flatbed. While I was waiting I started calling Ford dealers to see if anyone had the part out of 5 dealers in 50 miles one one did. It was a small town dealer only 20 miles from where I was stuck. The tow came and the driver had actually seen the same failure last summer but that truck was hauling 4 cars. The dealer was super helpful getting me in as soon as they could and just over 3 hours later I was back on my way. What a strange failure, but what are the odds my part fails near the only dealer that has the part? It might be worth looking at your pipe next time your hoods up, even though mine showed now obvious sign of fatigue.
Edit my truck is a 2011 350 with 82,000 miles on it.
Edit I can't seem to figure out how to upload a picture from my iPad.

Glad to hear you got all fixed up, Coop. It's actually not THAT uncommon a failure.
H&S offers a hard pipe upgrade:

Supposing if/when mine ever goes, I'll do that kit instead of going back with OEM

When ever using am parts you take that chance. If they don't affect anything the dealer should not deny warranty. Unfortunately some dealers look for excuses to do so.

Hmmmm......tax refund use... Sounds like the ticket to prevent a failure when least expected.
Would anyone benefit from the full Mishimoto combo kit at $600 vs the single replacement for the problem area? I am trying to justify the additional costs.

imo i don't think so.. the factory CAC doesn't have any weird bends that would cause airflow to not be smooth. just looks
