noise levels in cab windows rolled up music off...

Decibel readings....

I was curious to see what kind of in cab noise you guys get while driving around I downloaded an app on my phone called sound meter from the android market. And found that in cab noise is averages about 70db at idle but driving around between 25 and 50 my in cab noise peaks at 81 db constantly .... phone is sitting on seat cab windows rolled up no music on. Is this normal or can it be reduced as far as noise level. I have all the insulated peices in place and I insulated the floor pan with duct work wrap in the attached pictures. Any suggestions would be appreciated! !!! Lol anything else I can add that is cost effective.

I have found that if I stuff a drop cloth on the hole in the floor behind the seat it is a lot quieter...warmer too.

^^^^ Hope that hole doesn't eventually get bigger than the drop cloth....

(Such a hole is how we ended up with kittens once, many years ago.....)

Where's that reading at with a mother-in-law installed?

Seriously though, there's various noise deadening mat material that if you got ambitious you could pull your seats and carpet, overlay the floor and the back and as much of the front of the cab as feasible and reinstall everything. Should help some.

92 really isnt bad until you get over 900* and the downpipe rattles on the firewall... 79 on the otherhand, well i imagine its not any worse than a van with the dog house removed.
