It's not a rude insult. If you can't make a phone call to a regional manager yourself and need someone to do it for you, you certainly don't have common sense. So, it's a fact, not an insult. Or maybe you're just lazy. Either way...

As to your trying to be clever in your second line... yawn. My two year old could be more witty. Try again jr. Or then again, don't bother.

As to what you are used to from me, check the green rep boxes at the top of our posts and see who is being found more useful on this forum.

thats odd, because my truck was built August 17 2010 and yet when i checked myford out it stated that this was a recall under my vehicle. Though it does mention "certain" vehicles. So it makes me think i'll just wait until i get a letter in the mail or have a chance to talk with my service adviser.

Not sure how to make a statement without hurting feelings....

We are the largest Ford truck owner forum and we do help each other. Crystal is a representative for Ford Motor Company in this age of digital media. Vince is a Certified Master tech who works on these trucks daily but you still have the right as an owner to call Ford Motor Company.

Information is a tool you can use and everyone is trying the best they can to help one another. High EGT's in a regen is not an ideal situation which can cause injector, turbo and sensor damage. Certain vehicles are affected, call your dealer if in doubt or visit the site Crystal referred to in her statement.

We have several Master Technicians here on their own good will who can answer questions, but some members like to shoot the messenger in the foot. Carry on Gentlemen

I thanked the gentleman who posted the recall initially with reputation points. I wonder if I hit him in the foot with the rep gun?

I was at my local dealer yesterday while picking up my wife's Expedition (oil change). I asked the service manager about it and he didn't have anymore info than what has already been discussed here; just that it's emissions related and involves a reflash. Evidently he wasn't able to see any TSB type details.

The dealer bulletin shows more than the tech bulletin. The tech details (TSB) just show to reflash. The dealership bulletin shows it modifies the scr system for emissions purposes which will also lessen sensor failures. As far as what transistor or resistor is changed......nope.

these are the affected vehicles

AFFECTED VEHICLES

Vehicle Model Year Assembly Plant Build Dates

F-Super Duty 2011-2014 Kentucky Job #1 through November 6, 2013

and this is the reason;

REASON FOR THIS EMISSION RECALL

In all of the affected vehicles, the Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) system calibration must be updated to meet emission guidelines. In addition, the updated calibration contains additional improvements to the SCR system including reduced temperature sensor faults and improved drivability.

I see my 2011 F350 chassis cab is recalled. It's never had any issues, so unsure about whether to take it in or not. Perhaps we'll find out more details or the recall soon.

I am not!😈 I just think that these trucks shouldn't have EGRs, DPFs to begin with. Mine has been flawless since I deleted mine. Not saying that it wasn't when I wasn't deleted, but its nice to be able to idle the truck with the only concern being fuel. Now if everybody could stop the power debate we could all live with fuel systems that could withstand a little water and other stuff. I still haven't seen or heard of one person that has got a WIF light that has been able to drain their separator and be alright.

I guess time will tell since Ford doesn't seem to be sharing with the technicians. Funny how the dealership notification provides a few additional details.
We'll find out if those who can get this update and choose to update soon will either notice lower regeneration temps post DPF or will notice increased DEF usage. Or both.

I know ruschejj said he's using an increased amount of DEF, I'm curious if any other 2015 drivers who had a previous gen 6.7 are using more DEF than they remember.
