2000 ford ranger 4x4 for a 1977 250 trade

IHi guys , haven't been on here in a while, been looking for a 1977 f-250 4x4 "real" hiboy and found one on beautiful condition, rebuilt 20k on 460/c6 straight everything including interior [does need a windshield to be a 10.
Anyway, my ranger KBB @$4890.00 He'll take the trade plus $2600 I got him down from $8K...

My question is ... deal or no deal? what do you all think?

I think you will not like the MPG you get out of the 460...and the price of gas WILL go back up some day.

Real HB huh? Have you been here? https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ml#post1437578

At least your insurance might go down, unless you get antique vehicle insurance from Haggerty? Better ck into that, since it such a nice truck you better look into the cost of insuring it for what it worth not the KBB.. Insuring a restored/antique vehicle usually has mileage restrictions?

Yes there are other insurance companies out there, I used Haggerty since they came to mind first. Is the Ranger your DD and are you going to make the HB a DD?

Just some ideas to consider. You want a opinion of the truck, post some pics.

Well, with NO pictures its tough

With no pictures of either your rig and the prospective F250 it's hard to give you any solid opinion. With a truck with little to no resale interest as a 2000 Ranger, and the increasing market for decent true 77/- F250's I would have to tell you a resounding "NO". The fact that this guy is willing to trade plus cash from you, I'd probably jump on it.
Don't take this the wrong way but, I'd tell you to go sell your rig and provide me the cash price I was asking minus the haggle.

Well, I've decided to pass, 1.80/gal @ maybe 10mpgs vs 4.00/gal[ and it's comin back] . I'm gonna leave the big beautiful gas guzzler for younger rich people. I've owned 150 250's and still own a real nice 92' 350 cc built to the hilt. My lil weenie ranger [being a FORD] does everything I need and then some, 20mpgs on the hiway with a/c running, I'm gonna take the extra money throw in a set of 4:56's and call it a day.
I knew asking opinion's on this forum would be playing to the choir, believe me I would love to have it but I already have a Big Bad *** truck.. FORD!
Thank you guys for your input, if ya'll are interested C/L Colorado Springs
