How to reset the oil life

I change oil at 5,000 miles but did not reset the oil life. At 7,500 miles it's telling me to change oil. My question is how? The book says to press and release the setup button but for the life of me I can't find the setup button. Not planning to change oil again till 10,000 because we are using synthetic oil. Any help is appreciated. My pickup is a 2014 350. Thanks!

You have to go into the information menu and scroll to oil. Use the arrow key to get into the oil item and then hold down the OK button to reset the oil life.

Depends on the trim level, lower trim levels don't have the fancy display that works like you describe.

Basic display, press setup button(left side steering wheel upper button) until you get to the oil life, then press and hold reset(left side steering wheel lower button) until it shows new.

When I go to information all it has is MyKey and under that is System Check and under that is 1 warning which I can't go to but I'm sure it's the change oil warning. When I go to the setup button and go to the top it goes to settings and that has driver assist under that is rear park brake and so on but no oil.

On the same topic, it would be ill advised to wait that long to change the oil in these new diesels. Highly recommend changing when computer says to. To much risk in oil dilution, etc these days.

I think you misread something. The OP changed oil well before the system advised them to do so which is the best thing to do to avoid oil dilution.

I got that they changed it at 5k, but stated they weren't changing for 10k more due to synthetic oil. I might be misunderstanding that but think not

My understanding is that they changed it at 5k and then will change it again at 10k. So changes every 5k. But maybe I misunderstood.

Glad to help. Haven't seen the OP since I posted the pics though, so maybe they figured it out without the pics.
