7.3 MBRP exhaust

This past weekend I received my 4" mbrp 302 stainless steel turbo back exhaust. Today my mechanic went to install it and found that it did not not fit. He called mbrp and they said that cutting is necessary to fit a super cab short bed. He then called a local custom exhaust shop and they can only cut 3" pipe. I am left completely puzzled. Anybody have an idea on how to go about cutting the pipe? Can a bandsaw do the job? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as the truck is not drivable now.

A sawsall, ziz wheel, hacksaw, etc will work. With it being stainless it's going to take longer and may eat a blade or 2. File the rough edges after. I would sawsall it grind smooth.

If you have access to air tools use a die grinder with a cut-off wheel or an electric grinder with a wheel or find someone with a plama-cutter.

I used a 10" chop saw (Miter saw) with a $5 mason blade from Home Depot. Sparked like the 4th of July but got the job done.

Also, call another exhaust shop or just stop by one - they can do it. No money in it for them, but they can do it.

I just installed mine a week or so ago, and a cut-off wheel worked just fine…In fact I used the chunk to make my custom 6637 filter adaptor pipe( had to cut it again though)…I also loved the MBRP muffler sounds sweet, not annoying….but I did not love their hangers…I welded a little more to a couple

If you play with metal much,a angle grinder with a cut off wheel would be one the most versatile cutting tools you could have for the money,Harbor freight would be inexpensive, last pretty good for the investment.

Depends on cab length, you don't always have to cut, sometimes you can just remove one of the pipes. When you install it is pretty clear where to cut on the mid-pipe.

I have a crew cab long bed and I cut mine in between the axle and the cab... I had also ordered a second piece of 4" stainless pipe 36" long and was able to mix and match to cut less off
