my glow plugs are stumping me
1990 7.3 NON TURBO
Here is where I am at. I have done the pinpoint test out of the Ford manual first time
WAIT TO START LIGHT TEST disconnected connector run jumper to harness side to ground light on
QUICK GLOw PLUG TEST with test light. All good
POWER good
IGNITION POWER good
POWER TO WHITE WIRE good
POWER TO GLOBAL PLUG none
TEST LIGHT FROM BATT OPS TO GLOBAL PLUS TERMINAL no light but here relay click on/off every time I touched it. Temp was about 50.
I ordered a glow plug controller/relay installed new controller.
Still no wait to start light and no relay clicking.
REPLACEMENT TEST
WTS same, POWER TO RELAY same , POWER TO IGNITION same, NO POWER TO GLOBAL PLUG TERMINAL.
I ran a jumper to white wire heard relay click and heard cycling for a few seconds never get a WTS
Did I get a bad controller any help would be great.
Also PO BYPASSED CONNECT OR AT FENDER.

Three things come to my mind just reading your post:
The bulb, unless you did get it to come on, like I said, not sure what was said in that statement.
A fusible link. Not too familiar with the wiring on these trucks yet, as I haven't quite dug into mine yet. But most circuits have at least one fusible link from my understanding.
Check the resistance in the wires to the light, ground or positive, along with any connections. After I moved mine to behind the house for the winter, I found a ground wire in the garage. These trucks are old, and it is not unusual for things to mysteriously fail.

Ok did some more testing. I was on the diesel oring site. I did test they recommend.
VOLTAGE
Battery to chassis 11.7
Battery 11.7
Chassis to gp hot all time post 11.7
Chassis to ignition terminal 11.7
Ran temp ground from chassis to other small terminal (white wire) heand relay click
no power at other large terminal.
Voltage was down some from where I forgot to turn key off when I took a break.
This is the same problem I had with the old controller (International)
