New power doors XL??

I'm looking at some 2014 doors with Power locks and windows and I presently have no wiring harness. Can I just run 12V to the door lock and windows plus the ground and call it good? Are there any surprises that I need to do first? I know the door panels may be tight at the dash but I'm looking at the 08 dash upgrade in the future.

Anyone?? I heard that the wiring harness in a XL is the same as XLT and that the wiring may be tucked in the dash somewhere, Is this true? I'm assuming I'll have to buy connectors for the inside of the doors to match the 2014 ones but looking for some feed back.
Thanks

I don't know about the harness or the plugs matching up, but you are correct on just needing to run power to the motors to get them to work.

see if these will help. You may already have the power wiring on the truck side of the plugs. I believe you can ignore the BCM connections as I think those deal with remote entry/key fob for lock/unlock. Also for the windows also I think you can ignore the BCM connections as I doubt you have Globel Opening option.

Keep us posted if it works and what you have to do. I have a 05xl at work and panels from a 99 xlt that I would like to swap but mechanic at work tells me it won't work. Power windows would be nice but I would like it more for the storage pockets you gain.

Will do!! I want them more for the pockets too but power would be nice. I know the newer door panels from what I have heard, may or will touch the dash but I'm going to change that to a 08 or newer one if I can get the gage cluster figured out to look stock when its done. I just bought a used cluster to figure it out.

Sorry not yet. I'm doing my build in the spring as my truck is too tall to get in the garage and so rite now, I'm just collecting my parts and information on things I may not know to keep my cost in check. I will for sure update this post once I do it and if there are issues or part numbers of stuff needed, I'll list them.

Did you finish your project?

Soooo.... It's been almost 2 years since your post. I am assuming you did your project by now. How did it turn out? I am looking to do the same XL to XLT.

If you click on my build link you can see where I'm at with my project but I opted not to go with the power doors because I have so much into my project I happened to find a manual set of brand new doors for 800 for the pair so I saved like 700 to stay with the manual doors. Sorry!!
