pics of modified exhaust on lifted super duty?
Considering going with a 4.5" or maybe a 6" lift on 37's. I know guys have either modified the exhaust or had a custom front drive shaft built to avoid the rubbing. Not going to have a new drive shaft built though.
If I do go with the lift I'd like to be able to show my exhaust guy what needs to be done. Anyone have pics?

Pretty easy to accomplish really. Pull the big muffler which is the y-pipe. There will be a welded bracket between the 2 head pipes. Cut that bracket out. Now you can loosen the driver side pipe and turn it away from the driveshaft. Weld a new bracket in place. You can now either toss the big muffler, install a y-pipe (I used a flowmaster y-pipe from Jegs) and connect the rest of the exhaust; or put the muffler back which may need some modification to get back in place. Too much snow on the ground for me to take pictures, pretty easy to figure out though.

Mine barely rubbed at all. The issue is when the suspension compresses the driveshaft will be pulled toward the exhaust. I turned the pipe until I had just enough room to pull the transmission pan if needed. You may be able to refuse the trash can size muffler but I wanted more noise so I tossed it.
