What to grab off a T9 4-sp spur?

I've got a T9 from an F-3 that has the drum e-brake, and a PTO. I've grabbed the complete e-brake and drum off it, and the PTO and spacer. Also the big nut on the back of the output shaft, the speedo driven and drive gears. None of the gears inside are worth anything. What other tidbits are worth saving? Shifter forks? Tower?

It's headed to the scrap yard ASAP. (PS I am keeping the hogshead)

Edit: the rear foot mount is cracked on the PS.

I think you're saving more than even I would. Too bad the rear bearing retainer in junk. That's been broken and welded on several I've had, especially on the M-Hs that generally lived hard lives. Stu

Just curious, what kind of controls or linkage was attached to the PTO?

They had welded a flat plate to the top rail of the frame, welded a bolt to that, for the handle to pivot on. Just a simple rod from there to the PTO. They weren't clever enough to weld the pivot bolt's head to the plate, so the handle is still on the donor. I could get it but I'm sensing little demand for PTO's, even tho this one's output is facing forward (for a front-bumper winch or pump).

Looking at that, I don't see why those can't be "fixed" by bending up a plate to lay over the foot, and run up to the bolts on the bearing retainer. I wouldn't trust a weld there on c.i.

I just scrapped out a couple. I saved the same parts you mentioned. Both of mine had good rear mounts. I don't need any of the parts, but I didn't want to see them go for scrap. Both transmissions had been full of water.

Pinecone, I have a PTO on my '49 F4. I have all the levers off right now, I could send you some photos if you are interested. They would be simple to duplicate.
Ross, the shaft should be reversible in the pto you have to work either direction.

I've been wondering if it were reversible. Thanks for confirming! It's a Spicer RF7-13, is that what you have?

Thanks for the offer Mark. I have an extra 4-speed in very good condition that has the access cover for a PTO. I always wondered if the trans was supposed to have a bracket or two naturally in place in case a PTO was ever attached. At this time I have no plans for the trans or to get a PTO but want to be informed of what works with it in case it's next owner wishes to hook something up. So yes if you don't mind - send me a PM with some photos. No hurry, whenever is convenient for you.
Much appreciated.

Tom

No problem, the transmission is still on the workbench. Besides, I'm curious now.

Glad to see this discussion as I have 2 of these 4 spd. spur transmissions that I'm not going to use and was wondering what if anything I should do with them. I guess I'll strip off a few parts and scrap the rest. At least I'll get a few bucks for them at the scrap yard as they are HEAVY!
