//
1969 ford f850 super duty cab and chassis double frame 5spd with 3spd triplex aux 534 v8 runs good cab in fair condition tandem axle
//
I like the looks of this model/year and have room for it. Is that enough reason?

I could actually use a stake body/flat bed for farm duty.

Ive read the motor swap threads and understand what the 534 is performance wise. Im not concerened with speed or mog as it will be very low mileage just maintnance and they are supposed to be pretty solid.

I do have a big problem of having a interstate right here and it is posted 70mph and traffick goes 75-80. When im towing with the pickup i got 60-65 and that is about as slow as can be driven (people closing at 20mph) without it being dangerous. Could this thing do 60?

He is asing 2k

It should go 60 but it will take some time to get there. Our 292 would make 60, so no reason this won't. Air brakes? GVWR?

Definently airbrakes can see tanks and line in picture. I dont know about back in the day but 3 axle id guess 50k maybe 60?

She is going to be farm tagged for sure. Around here farm tags are very common even on range rovers and jags. If you are not hauling commercially you are left alone. And everything i use it for would qualify (only pain is the distance limits but thats workable)

I love those Superduties with the tandem rear axles. Would love to someday get one and put a nice dumping flatbed on it.

Those air brakes make that truck a great platform. It has a double frame. Those grilles like to rust out from the back because they had poor/ no paint so you would want to paint the back side since it looks so nice. I think tires/ wheels are always the most costly part of these old trucks. I would pay 2000 for that truck as long as the brakes aren't frozen up and the engine turns.

The GVWR should be posted on the door/or somewhere in the cab. Maybe? If it's anything like my 75 f 750 it will do 55 60 tops, but the engine will be screaming, unless you have a higher gear ratio in the rear.

how many spd trans? 2 spd rear?

All I can say is we had those (new 950 dump trucks) the king of the
highways 534 5 & 4 with overdrive blow the doors off anything back then.
They would just do around 68 mph till the gov kicked in. 100 gal of gas
a day was not a concern at 28 30 cents a gal. Them big Fords ate
Macks for breakfast loaded !!

MAX G.V.W. LBS (GVWR) stamped on the 3rd line-far left of the Warranty Plate, located on the left door face below the latch (see sample pic below).

1967/69 F/T800/1000's use a similar cab and doors as 1961/66 F100/1100's. All the weather strips are reproduced.

Buy it!

My '77 COE with a 534 will do 50-55 at 2800 rpm with a one-speed rear end with 6.5 gears. Power isn't the issue, just gearing. I gotta think the extra gearing on this one will get you 60-70 no problem. But VIN number will give you axle ratio and you can verify.

No FoMoCo VIN of any year has the AXLE code within it.

The actual axle ratio is stamped on the Rating Plate 1948/56.

AXLE code stamped on the 2nd line-far right of the Warranty Plate 1957/79, printed on the Certification Label 1980 to date.

You posted your trucks AXLE code in your switch/window roller thread, it's DKN:

DK = Eaton model 18121 Single Speed Rear Axle / 6.50-1 / 22,000 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity / N = Ford 9,000 lb. Capacity Front Axle with P/S

Yup, you are right Bill! Just below and to the right of the VIN. My mistake. Wish I could find an Eaton 18221 (two speed rear) with taller gears so I could do 60 mph myself. Anyone know where to find one?
