i'm restoring a 91 f250. it a 2 door lariat xlt. i have adapted a 98 dodge ram 1500 40/20/40 bench seat into the front of the vehicle.

i know they make cup holders that will clip onto the center console/center seat that you can use if the console is folded down.

i would rather put something on the transmission hump. is there a cup holder anyone can reccomend that i can buy? i don't want to build anything.

 

I bought a cup holder thing from auto-zone that has a small pocket for I guess gum packs or something that size and two adjustable sized cup holders and have them sitting behind the shifter on my truck with no clearance issues except for when trying to get a cup out in second or reverse. I just mounted it with double sided tape and has work for over a year now for me.

 

I bought a cheap-o plastic cup holder with little slots for like 4 CD's in it... Ended up wedging that part under the seat and it worked ok, but taller cups get hit shifting into 2nd gear...
It had 2 holes so you could screw it down but I wasnt about to make holes in ymy truck just to attach some plastic piece of crap...
