This is the floor mat I got from LMC Truck. It's been laying out like that for over a week and as you can see it's still got a pretty good wrinkle in the passenger side. Is it possible to make this thing lay flat on the cab floor? I'm considering returning it. I just don't know if I should ask for a refund or another mat.


I called LMC and they said they've never had this problem before and I should send them a pic. I did that and got no reply.


This is supposed to be a fun hobby. Stuff like this has a way of making it not so much.

 

In the summertime, laying it out might do the trick, but not in cool weather. You could try a hair dryer, heat gun or propane heater to soften it up an lay it out. The problem is probably not with the mat, but the way it's stored and shipped.

 

Well I am in California and the weather's been pretty much in the 50's and 60's so I guess that cold for us. I could try giving it some heat and see what happens. I'm hoping to hear from someone who's installed one before and could tell me what their experience was.

 

lay it in the truck and use a hair dryer to warm it up , a heat gun may get too hot and scorch it . with it in the truck and warming it up it allows it to fall into the floorboards naturally

 

I got one from them for my '63 and installed it when it was hot outside (and in the shop) I laid it out in the sun and it was fine - contoured to the floor very nicely - hot weather is/was the key. Btw - mine looked a lot like yours when I got it and I didn't think it would go in

Did you get the rubber or MIP mat from LMC? The MIP sounds a little more durable and a has a jute backing.

 

I got the rubber one without the backing - it fit nicely with just a little trimming. It was stiff and unmanageable until laid out in the sun to warm up. I'm satisfied with it

 

Put it in the truck and use a heat gun to let the wrinkles relax. This was an ACC mat after it was in a few days, then gone over with a heat gun.
