Removing clutch pedal arm?

After removing the keeper pin should the arm just slide off the shaft? Working outside in the fidget weather and the grease may be frozen or is there something else I'm missing?

Did you use a #4 concussion hammer & hootenanny wedge? They work excellent in the snow.
