AE Question 1996 F-350

During injector test getting a P1218 CID High code. During another KOEO I got P0470 Exhaust Pressure Sensor and the P1218 CID High code again, any ideas?

Problem is low power first 15 minutes, then you can hear turbo kick in and all is good?

When warm we had ICP 581.49 & ICP duty cycle 12.89. Going to check it out when problem is presenting itself tomorrow morning.

No power when its cold, the ebpv still hooked up? If so, that is normal, you can unplug it under the turbo on the drivers side. It helps to warm up the motor. 2 wire plug.

Yes, it is still hooked up. Should we try to unplug it and see if it does the same thing?

Thank you we will try it today. Any idea on those test codes? It only throws them during tests. It is not throwing them in the regular area of AE.

You'd know better by following the wire back to the element, but that's most likely it. Three conductors, one in a green insulator. Remember, this is AC so typical AC wiring color codes apply - black = hot, white = neutral, green = ground.

I put a male plug on it. The two side conductors were not white and black, just black. Green ground.

Checked heater core. It is not shorted to ground, or open, so it must be good. Reads just over 16 ohms. Sound right?

Thanks. It works. No fire or explosion. My meter reads 1.5 ohms with leads shorted, so 14 ohms is about right. Do you know if the picture of the plug into the turbo I showed is the EPBV plug?

Ran much better with the EBPV plug removed and the block heater on for a couple hours.
