Some C4 transmission questions - parts needed
I am thinking of replacing the cast steel bellhousing on my C4 transmission prior to pairing with my 240/300 engine in a month or so. If I replace it I want a lighter aluminum bellhousing. The tranny has the filler/dipstick mounted in the pan.
What am I looking for in terms of replacement bellhousing, the flex plate and I believe the spacer plate.
Trying to get some more stuff lined up for this project. My tranny did come with a torque converter.
Nearly, forgot transmission cooler will be needed as well.

That might be what Ford did back then. They do not tell me what the two bell housings are made of, just that one replaced the other. Bump era trucks,Econolines, and 65/72 full size cars got bell housing C5AZ7976B. C5AZ7976B was replaced by D3BZ7976A. D3BZ7976A had engineering numbers of D3BP7976AA and D6TP7976AA. The C5AZ one may be the metal one you speak of and the D3BZ one may have been aluminum. I dunno.
D3BZ7976A is listed for:
73/79 Dents 6 and 8 cyl.
73/79 Econolines 6 and 8 cyl.
73/74 full size car 351.
77/78 full size car 8 cyl all.
73/74 Torino with floor shift 351.
75/76 Torino with floor shift 351W.
73/77 little Bronco 302.
76 Granada and Maverick 302 (with trans PEE-CE1,CS,CT).
75/76 Granada 351 (with trans PEF-R,Z).
77 Granada floor or column shift 351W.

Radiator question
It has been deemed necessary that I replace my radiator with one with provisions for transmission cooling. What differentiates a radiator specified for with a/c or without a/c. I expect in the future I will add a/c to this truck (vintage air or similar).
Add to my parts list as well: water pump, thermostat, hoses.
I may forego power steering.

70/71:
F100/250 (4x2) M/T, 300 I6, standard cooling core size was 18 1/2"W X 18 3/8"H.
F100/250 (4X2) A/T, 240/300 I6, standard cooling core size was 23 3/4"W X 18 3/8"H.
F100/250 (4X2) M/T 300, A/T 240&300, EXTRA cooling pkg. core size was 26 1/4"W X 19 3/4" H.
F100/250 (4X2) WITH A/C ,240/300 same radiator as EXTRA cooling package above.

BUT, if you plan on adding A/C later I would jump straight to that radiator. You may or may not have to open up the opening in your Radiator core support.

How do I determine the teeth count? I know I need a no-weight flex plate (I think also called a flex plate for an internally balanced fly-wheel) for my straight six along with a spacer plate.
